30A 10K Hopes to Raise $10,000 for Danny Margagliano

The inaugural 30A Thanksgiving 10K hosted by Hammer Down Multisport, the areas largest competitive Cycling, Triathlon and Running club in Northwest Florida, is striving to raise $10,000 for Donations 4 Danny. The Thanksgiving 10K race is being held Thanksgiving Morning in beautiful town of Rosemary Beach.

“The community support has been incredible. The 30A 10K is going to be an amazing race and a race that will be a great tradition on Scenic 30A. We are pleased to be able to support Danny Margagliano as he recovers from his accident”, Karen Meadows race director for 30A 10K.

Proceeds from the 30A 10K Race and 1 Mile Fun Run will be donated to Donations 4 Danny supporting Danny Margagliano. The 30A 10K Race is expected to sell out and be a great event for avid runners and beginner runners. The 30A 10K race course is certified and is a Peach Tree Road Race Qualifier.

Fusion Spa Salon Grand Boulevard Cut-A-Thon

Danny’s story is very personal for us as we were fortunate enough to have his lovely wife April work with us at our Grand Boulevard Fusion Spa Salon.

It has been four months since their lives were turned upside down, but Danny is home. Click the link to see his progress as he continues his incredible journey to recovery. Danny’s Journey Home!

To celebrate his homecoming, the team is pulling together for April, Danny and their family to perform a cut-a-thon on Monday, August 20th from 3-7pm. We will offer hair cuts for men, women and children of all ages as well as hair styles and chair massages with all donations benefiting the family. All appointments will be on a first come, first service basis with suggested donations as follows:

 $20 for dry cut
 $20 for hair style (flat iron, braids, curls)
 $10 for 10 minute massage
Perfect timing for back to school cuts, refreshing your look for Fall or some much needed relaxation! So come out and see our team of trained Aveda professionals to take advantage of these special savings all while helping out a local hero and his family.

Make plans to enjoy dinner or a tasty award-winning margarita across the Boulevard at local’s favorite, Cantina Laredo. They have graciously agreed to donate 10% of the proceeds from their day in support of Danny.

Project Home

It is hard to believe it has been four months since Danny’s accident on April 14,th 2012. So much has happened over four months and the progress Danny has made has been nothing short of amazing[see video]. While Danny has been away we have analyzed the optimal living situation for Danny and his family and determined that a home renovation to their existing home is the most economical and practical path.

Walking through Danny’s  home it is clear that much work is needed to make their home functionable, accessible and safe for Danny and his family to live in. Jeff Margaretten with Margaretten Architectural got to work and designed a 670sf expansion of their home. Key features include:

• Wheel chair accessible exits and entry points at the front of the house, side entry and garage
• Expanded master suite to accommodate a roll-in shower and dressing area for Danny
• Widening interior doorways to be wheel chair accessible
• Renovating the kitchen for wheel chair accessibility and access for Danny for food and beverages
• Home office expansion so Danny and April can work from home efficiently and productively
• Wheel chair accessible laundry room
• Covered Porch as an accessible outdoor space for Danny and his family
• New landscape and paver-scape design for Danny to easily access his front and back yards

Coldwell Banker United Realtors in Niceville will host a garage sale Saturday, May 19 to support Donations 4 Danny, a charity set up to assist Realtor and fireman Danny Margagliano, Keller Williams Realty.  Sale proceeds will go to support Danny, whose medical costs and expenses will continue to grow.
